ANET stock was up about 5.2% at $178.81 in late-morning New York trading Wednesday after Arista Networks delivered $3.66 billion of third-quarter revenue, roughly $358 million above its own guidance, and forecast another step higher to $3.9 billion-$4.0 billion in the fourth quarter.
The reaction was considerably stronger earlier. Arista traded as high as $188.53 after the open, nearly 11% above Tuesday’s $169.91 close, after having gained roughly 9.5%-9.75% in premarket trading.
That makes Wednesday’s move a direct test of the levels FinanceFeeds set out before earnings. In its October 28 Arista stock prediction, FinanceFeeds used the October 27 close of $187.00 as the reference price and calculated a $196.32 year-end base case, a $277.11 bull case and a $156.01 bear case.
Arista briefly traded back above that $187 reference level Wednesday morning before giving back part of its opening gain. It remains below the model’s $196.32 base case, while the earnings report has materially changed some of the operating assumptions investors can now test against those levels.
Arista Beat Its Own Revenue Guide by About $358 Million
Arista reported third-quarter revenue of $3,657.6 million, up 58.5% from $2,308.3 million a year earlier and 20.5% sequentially.
The company had guided to approximately $3.3 billion three months ago. That means the actual result exceeded Arista’s own forecast by roughly $357.6 million.
Revenue also beat the roughly $3.33 billion Wall Street consensus. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share came in at $1.20 versus an analyst consensus of about $1.08, while GAAP diluted EPS was $1.22.
Profitability held up despite the unusually rapid expansion. GAAP gross margin was 63.6%, while non-GAAP gross margin was 64.0%. Non-GAAP operating margin reached 49.1%.
Arista Chairperson and CEO Jayshree Ullal said the quarter produced the company’s highest year-over-year revenue growth since its IPO and record profitability, with demand spanning AI, cloud and enterprise networking.
The full figures are contained in Arista’s November 3 earnings release filed with the SEC.
Q4 Revenue Is Guided to $3.9-$4.0 Billion
The earnings beat was only part of Wednesday’s move.
For the fourth quarter, Arista expects revenue of $3.9 billion to $4.0 billion. The midpoint of $3.95 billion is above the roughly $3.6 billion analyst consensus cited ahead of Wednesday’s session.
The company also expects a non-GAAP operating margin of 48%-49% and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.26-$1.30.
Management went further on Tuesday’s earnings call, raising its full-year 2026 revenue outlook for the fourth time this year. Arista now expects revenue of just over $13.3 billion at the midpoint, versus its previous target of around $12.6 billion.
Its first look at 2027 was also stronger than the near-term Q4 numbers alone suggest. Management expects revenue growth of 38%-40% next year, equating to approximately $18.5 billion at the midpoint.
Within that outlook, Arista expects AI-fabric revenue to roughly double to $7 billion in 2027 from its $3.5 billion 2026 target. The company also said its Etherlink customer base has grown beyond 100 customers as AI networking deployments broaden beyond the handful of large customers that initially drove the cycle.
What the Earnings Mean for FinanceFeeds’ $196 Base Case
The October 28 FinanceFeeds analysis was deliberately cautious about treating Arista’s AI partnerships as equivalent to booked revenue. It noted that Meta and Microsoft appeared alongside AMD, Arm, Broadcom, d-Matrix and Qualcomm in Arista’s October rack-scale networking announcement, while Arista’s regulatory filing did not identify the two customers that accounted for 26% and 16% of 2025 revenue.
Tuesday’s earnings give that thesis a harder revenue test.
Arista did not merely meet the $3.3 billion Q3 guide used in the earlier analysis. It exceeded it by around 10.8%, while simultaneously raising the next quarterly revenue level toward $4 billion.
At $178.81 in late-morning trading, however, ANET remained about 8.8% below the $196.32 FinanceFeeds base case. Reaching the $277.11 bull case would still require a gain of roughly 55% from that intraday level, while the $156.01 bear case sits about 13% below it.
The stock’s early move above $188 also matters because $187 was the original spot used for the forecast. Wednesday showed that the earnings report could recover that level, but the subsequent fade means investors have not yet repriced Arista straight toward the base case.
Arista Did Not Buy Back Shares in the First Nine Months
One detail in the cash-flow statement separates the earnings growth from financial engineering.
Arista recorded no common-stock repurchases during the first nine months of 2026. In the corresponding period of 2025, the company spent $983.0 million buying back shares.
The absence of buybacks means this year’s earnings acceleration has not been supported by a comparable repurchase program. The third-quarter EPS growth instead arrived alongside a 58.5% jump in revenue and higher operating profit.
The wider AI-networking trade has already produced large moves elsewhere. FinanceFeeds recently examined Ciena’s AI-networking rally and its bull-and-bear valuation range, another example of investors placing increasingly aggressive values on the infrastructure that connects AI compute rather than only on the chips themselves.
ANET Stock Now Has a New Fundamental Test
Before earnings, the FinanceFeeds Arista forecast asked whether customer orders would justify the valuation implied by the $277.11 bull case.
The third quarter answered part of that question. Revenue was almost $360 million above Arista’s own forecast, Q4 is now headed toward $4 billion, and management expects 2027 revenue around $18.5 billion with AI-fabric sales potentially doubling.
But Wednesday’s price action also shows the distinction between a stronger earnings path and an automatic move to the bull case.
ANET initially surged toward $189 before retreating toward $179. The immediate chart test is therefore whether the post-earnings rally can first reclaim and hold the original $187 reference price, then move toward the $196.32 base case. The $277.11 bull case remains much further away, even after Arista delivered a quarter substantially stronger than the one the October forecast was waiting to see.
